Aaron A. Nelson
715-760-9942
Professional Summary:
Aaron graduated from UW Law School in 1996. After graduation, Aaron began working with Doar Drill & Skow defending people accused of crimes. In 2001, he left Doar Drill & Skow and continued his criminal defense practice at Estreen & Ogland in Hudson, WI. On July 1, 2005, Aaron returned to Doar Drill & Skow and continues to focus on Criminal Defense.
In Aaron's 12 years as a Trial Lawyer, he has litigated more than 30 trials including: First Degree Intentional Homicide, First and Second Degree Sexual Assault, Arson, Armed Robbery, Possession of Child Pornography, Battery, Felony Theft, Possession of THC (Marijuana), Methamphetamine, and Cocaine, Disorderly Conduct, Criminal and Civil OWI's, and Civil Mental Health Commitments. In addition to the numerous outright "Not Guilty" verdicts, some other trials resulted in cases being dismissed in the middle of trial and some resulted in convictions on lesser included crimes. Aaron has had significant success in representing clients at motion and suppression hearings, which resulted in significant evidence being suppressed and the case then being dismissed or significantly reduced.
Aaron is one of a select number of private attorneys in Northwestern Wisconsin certified by the Wisconsin State Public Defender to represent people charged with Class A Felony: Intentional Homicide.
For the past two years, Aaron Nelson has been named a "Rising Star" by Wisconsin Super Lawyers magazine for his representation of people accused of crimes.
